Join us for a life changing 10 days in india

This isn’t your average yoga retreat—it’s a soul-stirring adventure through India.

Join a small, intentional group of sober and sober-curious women as we travel together through one of the most vibrant, awe-inspiring corners of the world. We'll start in North India—exploring the bustling streets of Delhi, the wonder of the Taj Mahal in Agra, and the colorful charm of Jaipur. Think ancient temples, majestic forts, and markets full of texture, color, and life.

Each day, you'll ground yourself with yoga led by Alexandra McRobert, internationally recognized founder of the Sober Yoga Girl movement and The Mindful Life Practice, a global yoga community based in Bali. You'll also connect more deeply with your life’s purpose in daily women’s circles led by me, Jane Ballard. This trip is about more than sightseeing—it’s about meaningful connection, reflection, and fully immersing yourself in a once-in-a-lifetime experience with women walking a similar path.

After our journey through the Golden Triangle, we’ll slow it all down and head to the beaches of Goa. Picture soft sand, slower mornings, and space to truly exhale at one of the area’s top-rated beach resorts.

Can’t swing the full eleven days? We’ve got you.
You can choose the adventure that fits your schedule:

Golden Triangle Only (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur): Feb 22–28
Beach Retreat Only (Goa): Feb 28–March 5

No matter which part you join, you’ll return home more grounded, more connected, and more alive.

Who is this retreat for?

This retreat is for you if...

  • You've been dreaming about India but the idea of navigating it solo feels a little overwhelming—and you're craving a more connected, supportive way to explore.

  • You want more than just a vacation. You're looking for a meaningful adventure that blends yoga, mindfulness, and culture—with no pressure to drink.

  • You're longing for real connection with other women who are walking a similar alcohol-free path, whether you're sober, sober-curious, or somewhere in between.

  • You're feeling called to go deeper—into your yoga and meditation practice, into soulful conversations, and into yourself.

What’s Included in your india retreat

  • Accommodation, Excursions, 2 meals daily

Because we’re exploring so many beautiful parts of India together, our accommodations will vary from city to city—each one thoughtfully chosen to give you a true sense of place and comfort throughout the journey. We’ll begin in Delhi, where we’ll stay in a welcoming 4-star hotel nestled within a gated community—an ideal place to land and gently ease into the rhythm of India. In Agra, we’ll slow down and settle into an authentic Indian homestay. This spacious and lovingly maintained property is hosted by a local family, offering us a rare glimpse into daily life and culture. Each of us will enjoy a private room and bathroom here. From there, we head to Jaipur, where we’ll be welcomed into a charming, family-run heritage hotel. This three-star property is full of character and history—just like the Pink City itself. Finally, we’ll unwind and integrate all we’ve experienced in a serene, four-star beach resort in Goa. This slow-paced coastal stay is right on the water—a perfect place to rest, reflect, and breathe it all in.

Meet our Team

This is the third annual Sober Women's Yoga Adventure to India. We've been evolving and tweaking this program since we began in 2023, and we think the third time is the charm. Meet the team behind this retreat.

  • Alexandra is a 500 Hour E-RYT passionate about helping people reconnect with themselves through the ancient teachings of yoga. Originally from Canada, Alexandra lived for seven years in the Middle East, in Kuwait and Abu Dhabi, before relocating to Bali. She brings a deeply grounded, trauma-informed, and heart-centered approach to her classes.

With over a decade of experience and 200+ yoga teacher trainees certified through her school, The Mindful Life Practice, Alexandra offers practices rooted in philosophy, presence, and compassion. Her teachings integrate vinyasa flow, yin yoga, meditation, and chanting - inviting students to explore yoga as a path to sobriety, clarity, and inner peace.

Alexandra specializes in making yogic philosophy accessible and relevant to modern life. Her classes blend traditional teachings from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita with mindful movement and reflective inquiry. Whether you're stepping onto the mat for the first time or are a lifelong practitioner, you'll feel welcome, held, and empowered in her space.

  • Jane Ballard is a licensed clinical social worker, certified eating disorder specialist, and perinatal mental health certified clinician with over twenty years of experience supporting women through all stages of life. She’s the founder of Jane Ballard Wellness, a Dallas-based practice focused on holistic healing, mindful sobriety, and women’s emotional, cognitive and spiritual well-being.

Jane is also a mom of three and a wife, bringing real-life experience and a down-to-earth presence to everything she does. In 2023, she met Alexandra in Bali and experienced the magic of retreat firsthand. That journey inspired her to complete her 200-hour yoga teacher training through the Mindful Life Practice in 2024. She now leads her own retreats for alcohol-free women in Bali, creating spaces for deep rest, connection, and renewal.

As a retreat leader, podcast host, and facilitator of women’s circles around the world, Jane offers a unique blend of clinical expertise, spiritual insight, and heart-centered guidance. Jane is known for her warm, honest, and inclusive style. She creates spaces where women can show up exactly as they are—no masks, no pressure, just real connection. With a mix of storytelling, gentle guidance, and a good sense of humor, she helps women drop into presence, find their voice, and feel deeply supported.

She is honored to co-create sacred space in India, inviting women into a deeper practice of self-trust, mindful living, and soulful connection.

When Yoga Meets Sobriety: The Start of a Beautiful Collaboration

In April 2023, Jane Ballard stepped off a plane and into an alcohol-free women’s retreat in Bali, ready for a week of rest and renewal. She didn’t know it yet, but this retreat would change more than her perspective on wellness—it would introduce her to Alexandra McRobert, a yoga instructor who would soon become a friend and creative collaborator.

Alexandra brought something different to the mat. With her arm in a cast from a recent motorbike accident, she led every class with presence, honesty, and warmth. During long holds, she shared personal stories that resonated deeply and also entertained. And in savasana, she sang—Jane still remembers the first time she heard Blackbird. It was a moment of unexpected beauty and healing.

Inspired by Alexandra’s approach, Jane signed up for her online yoga teacher training shortly after the retreat. Over the next 10 months, they connected weekly through a virtual community of sober and sober-curious women—Monday nights in the U.S., Tuesday mornings in Bali. Through that shared experience, their connection grew.

In April 2024, Jane returned to Bali—this time as a retreat leader herself. Alexandra welcomed Jane’s group to the resort where she lived for a special evening of yoga and dinner. They stayed in touch, supporting each other’s work from afar. Jane was a guest on Alexandra’s Sober Yoga Girl Podcast, and Alexandra later appeared on Mindful Sobriety: The Podcast, which Jane co-hosts with Amanda Cable.

By 2025, Jane was back in Bali leading her Live Your Purpose Women’s Retreat, and Alexandra joined as the retreat’s yoga instructor. Each morning, she participated in women’s circles before guiding the group through yoga. This time, she also brought her harmonium and sang to the group, adding another layer of meaning to the experience. On the final evening—her birthday—Alexandra invited the group to her new rooftop yoga shala for a cacao ceremony.

That evening, when Alexandra shared her idea of Jane bringing her women’s circles to India, it felt like a natural next step—a collaboration between two healing professionals with shared values and a commitment to creating intentional, alcohol-free spaces for women.

And the rest, as they say, is history.
